These application deadlines are the same whether you’re a home-schooled student, in-state, or out-of-state.

We accept applications on a rolling basis, which means you can apply any time throughout the year.

You are automatically considered for University scholarships when you apply, but you must meet the before May 31 of your senior year.

Requirements for all freshmen

• 18 ACT English/500 SAT Evidence-Based Reading & Writing/ 250 Accuplacer Writing or 3.0 Overall high school GPA (unweighted)
  19 ACT Math/ 510 SAT Math/ 250 Accuplacer QAS Math or 3.0 Overall high school GPA (unweighted)
• 2.0 cumulative GPA (unweighted)

For in-state freshmen

If you graduated from a high school in Louisiana and you’re applying as a freshman, you must meet the requirements for all freshmen plus the following requirements for admission:

• Complete Louisiana Board of Regents Core 4 Curriculum (19 units) with a 2.5 GPA
  • This core GPA requirement is waived if you have a 23 ACT Composite or 1130 SAT Composite

For out-of-state and home-schooled freshmen

If you graduated from a high school outside Louisiana or you were home schooled, you must meet the requirements for all freshmen plus one of these three requirements:

• Meet all in-state freshman requirements
• Complete 17+ units of the Louisiana Board of Regents Core 4 Curriculum with a 2.5 GPA and a 23 ACT Composite or 1130 SAT Composite
• 26 ACT Composite or a 1230 SAT Composite

Alternative High School Credential

If you have not graduated high school but have taken the HiSET Exam:

• HiSET score of 15 on any subtest and score of 4 on HiSET Essay and
• 18 ACT English/500 SAT Evidence-Based Reading & Writing
• 19 ACT Math/ 510 SAT Math

Don't meet the requirements?

If you do not meet the criteria for Guaranteed Admission, there are a few ways you can be admitted. You can:

• Defer your admissions decision to another semester to give yourself more time to meet the requirements.
• Complete the highest level of remedial Math and English before the semester you applied for.
• Take the Accuplacer test for admissions consideration.

We also offer admission by exception committee by invitation only. Eligible applicants will be contacted directly by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions after application to the University.

Transcripts

We will need to receive your high school transcript when you apply, even if you haven’t completed all of your high school classes. We will need your final transcript with your graduation date and GPA before you can enroll.

In-state freshmen

If you attended a Louisiana high school, we can access your high school transcript electronically.

If you earned your GED or attended an unaccredited Louisiana high school, you will need to have your official transcripts sent to Undergraduate Admissions. Contact your admissions counselor for help.

Out-of-state freshmen

Contact your high school counselor and ask them to email or mail your transcripts directly to the Â鶹ҹÊÐ Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

Official Test Scores

Log in to your student account on the SAT or ACT websites to send your scores to Â鶹ҹÊÐ’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions:

• Â鶹ҹÊÐ’s ACT test code: 1612
• Â鶹ҹÊÐ’s SAT test code: 6672

You can also have your high school send your scores to Â鶹ҹÊÐ’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions, but these aren't considered official. We need your official scores sent from the SAT or ACT to make a final decision on your admission to Â鶹ҹÊÐ.

Immunization Form

All incoming freshmen must submit an immunization form before you can register for classes. You can submit it at the same time or after your admissions application.

You must be screened for tuberculosis (TB) and be immunized against measles, mumps, rubella, tetanus-diphtheria.

Selective Service Registration

Males between 18 and 26 years old are required to register with the Selective Service and provide proof of registration to Undergraduate Admissions. .
